Reservation Vs Inquiry Explained
For SiteLink users, there are two lead transmission types: Inquiry and Reservation. It is important to determine what the lead type is prior to saving and submitting the lead. For example, if the lead wishes to reserve a unit, by either giving you a date to come in, or if your company takes them, a reservation payment, then you will want to submit this lead as a reservation, so that the unit is taken out of inventory and guaranteed to the lead. However, if the person is simply price shopping, or has interest but no firm commitment, you would want to submit the lead as an Inquiry. Further Explained below:
- If you submit a lead is an INQUIRY, then the unit is NOT taken out of inventory. This simply creates a lead with a selected unit size, and schedules the lead for follow ups thereafter.
- Conversely, if a lead is submitted is a RESERVATION, then the unit selected IS taken out of inventory, in effect "promising" the lead the unit selected.
