Source Match functionality
We have implemented a feature that will allow users to use Wildcard matching to populate an ad source based on the source value transmitted over from the management software. This way, you can have ad sources default for API loaded leads, based on matching certain criteria.
How to get there:
Login as an Administrator to CP
Access the Tracking Numbers Page
Navigate to Ads
Edit the ad of your choice
View the Source Match field
Now, you can use either exact matches, or wildcard/partial matches to auto-populate the Source for an API loaded lead.
For Example: If you have a Source value from your management software as “Web direct”, and an Ad Source in CallPotential titled “Website”, you can had “Website” auto populate for those “Web direct” loaded API leads, by simply entering “Web*” into the Source Match field. This tells the system that if a lead loads in from the management software with the source “Web direct”, then it will match to the CallPotential ad “Website”, and populate that for the lead!
Using this methodology, users can also use the % symbol to perform wildcard matches based on slight differences in spelling. For Example: If the Source value from your management software is “Color”, you can enter “Colo%r” into the Source Match field for an Ad in CP, and the ad will populate if the source comes across as EITHER “Color” or “Colour”
