Webhooks are used to transmit data from CallPotential to third party analytics platforms, helping you gain a better understanding of and justify your advertising campaign expenses. Information is transferred to a webhook destination (a URL) by associating a parameter from your analytics platform to either a system or custom variable within CallPotential. The purpose of this guide is to explain where to enter that destination URL and identify what information is sent.

Create a New Webhook or Edit an Existing One - Note: This section isn't mandatory and if you aren't using webhooks, can be skipped. However, if you are using webhooks, all of these steps need to be completed for information to be successfully sent from CallPotential to your third-party analytics platform.

  • (F) Webhooks - Edit the existing or paste a new webhook link in this window. This is the destination where your information is sent. The type of information you send is defined by (G) & (H). Note: Only information that is gathered at the start of the call can be transferred. Examples of this type of information include caller name, number used to call or location called. Information gathered during the call or when the call has ended is not transferred. Types of information not transferred includes call duration and possibly call type if that's not known at the beginning of the call.

  • (G) Parameter Name - Enter the specific information you want sent to your analytics platform. Examples of this may be the number used to call from or the location someone called. Enter that data in this window and follow up with (H) Value. Note: The parameter name you enter here needs to match with the parameter name in your analytics platform. If the names don't match, your information will not transfer.

  • (H) Value - Click the dropdown to select the system or custom variable that represents the parameter name you entered in (G). This will pull the information from CallPotential and ultimately match it to the parameter name in your analytics platform. Click for more information system variables.

  • (I) Add - This becomes enabled when a parameter name and value have been entered. Click to add additional Parameter Names and Values.
