Tracking numbers may need to be updated when modifying call routes or adjusting number specific attributes like recording options, being displayed as the caller ID, and connecting with a webhook. The purpose of this guide is to explain how you can edit tracking numbers.

Terms in blue are links to additional information about the described functionality. 

You must be signed into CallPotential's web version as an Administrator to access Settings and edit a tracking number.

Access

  • (A) Settings - Click to access all your available administrative settings.
  • (B)Phone Numbers - Click to access the tracking number list.


Select Tracking Number to Edit - Note: After clicking Phone Numbers, the list will initially default to

show Active

showing active tracking numbers.

  • (C) Add a Filter - Click the dropdown to filter by number, associated ad, or location.
  • (D)Search - You can search by a specific number or location. The list will dynamically update as you type.


Edit Tracking Number

  • (E) Edit - Click to access the settings for a specific tracking number.


Edit Settings

  • (F) Location - Click the dropdown to change the location the number is associated.
  • (G) Ad - Click the dropdown to change the ad source the number is associated.
  • (H) Call Routing Rule - Click the dropdown to adjust the routing based on number or location settings. Location default uses the default location call route. If you want a number to route differently than the location (collection number), it can be set here.
  • (I) Script Card - Click the dropdown to associate a script card based on the tracking number. Location default uses the default location script card. If you acquire a number to run an ad, you can then associate a custom script which references that ad.
  • (J) Record Inbound Call - By default, inbound calls will be recorded. Uncheck the box to not record inbound calls. 
  • (K) Exclude Number - Click the checkbox to exclude the number from being used as the outbound caller ID. 
  • (L)Webhooks - If using a webhook, paste the link here from Google Analytics.
  • (M) Parameter Name - Enter the Google Analytics column you want to associate with the (N) Value.
  • (N) Value - The system variable you want associated with the (M) parameter.
  • (O) Add - This will become enabled when a parameter name and value are selected. Click to add additional Parameter Names and Values.


Save

  • (P) Save - Click to save any edits made to the tracking number and return to the My Tracking Numbers list.
  • (Q)Cancel - Click to discard any edits made to the tracking number and return to the My Tracking Numbers list.
